The book suggests several approaches none of which jived with my personality, I am ranking it as Okay read as education of what approaches sales people might be using dealing with you. The first approach the author suggests is first asking for something outrageous, expecting a no response, and only after that asking for something that you really want. I did not like this approach based on how I would react to such flow of the conversation. When someone asks for something outrageous (especially a salesman trying to make a deal), I end the negotiations immediately. My time is too valuable to deal with someone who is not reasonable. Other suggestions such as establishing a similarity or using guilt sounded more likely to be successful.Ali Julia review
I work in sales more or less. This book was very important and great for teaching me the basics and roots of connecting with people. Its a very easy read without being overwhelming. I will be looking into authors other books as well.Thank you
I mean its a two dollar book, but I wasn't too impressed, but that's probably more my fault. I found Principles of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini much more substantive, but that's perhaps an apples to oranges comparison.
